A thorough and informative overview of the policy and design decisions that allowed Copenhagen to become one of the world’s most bicycle friendly cities. Copenhagen, with a significant (but slightly milder) winter climate than the Twin Cities, has a bicycle mode share of 36% (approximately 36% of all home-to-work trips in the city are by bicycle; automobile mode share is 27%). About 60% of all city cyclists continue to ride through the winter months.
