It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by negative statistics when assessing African infrastructure, and it’s just as easy to overlook that many of these same statistics are representative of a very real demand for infrastructure across the continent.
Africa is now one of the world’s fastest growing economic hotspots, its 2008 gross domestic product on a par with China and Brazil. This increased growth and creates opportunities for private sector investment in Africa, including in infrastructure.
