This module of the GTZ (launched at the COP 15, December 2009) Sourcebook for Decision-Makers in Developing Cities is intended to raise awareness and describes the expected impacts of climate change on urban passenger transport as well as possible adaptation measures.
It expresses that in order to build a climate-resilient urban transport system is vital to:
• Safeguard transport infrastructure and its embedded value;
• Ensure reliable mobility and economic vitality/development; and
• Guarantee the health and safety of urban residents.
