Various powerpoint presentations presenting different issues relating to the maintenance and financing of rural roads, such as different methodologies that can be used and related issues such the involvement of women in decision-making. There are case studies from Bangladesh and Burkina Faso. These were shown at the 10th TransNet Event, held in Bern, Switzerland on 19 May 2006, which aimed to provide a broad overview of the “state-of-the-art” in the subject (Rural Roads Maintenance and Finance) and to pinpoint critical issues and challenges. The event used to help the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) define a regional exchange and learning workshop to be conducted in Africa later in 2006.
